FAQ's

Great answers to frequently asked questions.

Do you take on existing sites for design changes, updates, marketing, etc.?
Yes, we do that all the time. Contact Us or Call 941-870-5343.

How long does it take to build a web site?
On average it takes 30 to 60 days but can be less or more depending on the exact project.

What is the process you use in building a web site?
Initial consultation, proposal and acceptance, design draft, site built and tested, content added, site reviewed with client and tweaked before going live.

Do you provide domain registration and web hosting?
Yes, we have dedicated servers for PHP and ASP sites and we will work with you to secure the best domain name for your business.

Can you provide us with business class email solutions?
Yes, we offer both Rackspace Email and Rackspace Microsoft Exchange.

How much does it cost us to have a web site built?
Depending on your exact needs we have solutions from $3,999, $2,999 and starter sites from $1,250.

Can you build Ecommerce/shopping carts for us?
Yes, we work mainly with Volusion, Big Commerce, Miva Merchant, PayPal and OS Commerce. Pricing depends on your exact requirements.

What are your payment terms?
With new developments we require a 50% deposit and the balance upon completion. Updates are billed 30 days net at the end of the month. We accept checks, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and PayPal.

What are your monthly fees?
We do not have monthly fees. As our client you pay only for the exact time we spend working with you and on your web site.

Will you write the text for the web site?
No, but we can refer you to a professional copywriter.

Are you willing to work with another hosting company for my site that already exists?
Yes. No. Well maybe! We will take this on a case by case basis and we may charge a wee bit more because of extra handling time.

Can I keep my existing email address but work with your web site hosting?
Yes. We can also provide enterprise class email/exchange from Rackspace.

Can you take over my existing domain name?
Yes.

Who owns the copyright to the web site?
With the final payment the client owns the rights to permanent use of the web site design. Depending on what technologies have been used in site creation we may or may not be able to transfer ownership of such technologies. At all times you can take the web site and technologies used in it to another web hosting or web development company. The design, the back-end technology behind and any stock art used may not be re-sold, lent or shared in anyway. Abacus Web Services retain full ownership of any back-end technology. In the case of any shared content provided by Abacus Web Services that would remain in our ownership. All these items will be covered in the proposal.
